Candy Buffet FAQ

Candy buffets can be a lot of work but we are here to help answer some of the questions you may be having.

What types of events work with candy buffets?

There are so many events that you can use candy buffets for such as weddings, birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, engagement parties, corporate events, class reunions, and so many more.

How much candy do I need?

How much candy you need depends on how many guests you have coming to your wedding or event. We recommend having a quarter pound to a half pound per person.

If you’re having 100 people at your event, you would need roughly between 25-50 pounds of candy in total. This makes up for the fact that some guests will want more than a ¼ to ½ pound of candy and some will want less.

What types of candy should I use?

The type of candy you use really depends on your guests and their preferences. We have a variety of candies to choose from, chocolate, taffy, suckers, hard candy, licorice, gummy, sour candy, wrapped and unwrapped and much more. We recommend selecting several different types of candies so that everyone will have something they can enjoy. However, if you are doing a candy buffet for younger children you may want to limit your choices to kid-friendly candies and if you are catering to an older event you may want to select candies from our nostalgic section which they may enjoy.

In the end it is really up to you and what you want. We are only here to provide suggestions which have worked well for others!

Can I use the candy for favors?

YES! Many people decide that using the candy as favors for the guests attending their event makes everything easier. This way you won’t have too much or any candy left over after the wedding or event.

What types of containers work best for favors?

There are so many different types of containers that work! You can use small Ziploc bags, brown paper bags, organza pouches, small buckets, fancy take out boxes and many more.

How do I know how much candy I need for my jars and favors?

The easiest way to know what you need for your jars and favors is to bring in the containers you are planning on using and let us fill them for you.

This way we can give you the amount that fits into the container as well as provide you extra candy if desired for refilling or extra favors.

Bringing in the containers takes the stress off of knowing how much candy will fit in each different size of jar or bag. Especially because 1 pound of taffy will fill a container much differently than one pound of sixlets!
